News Anchor / Reporter
Rob Williams joined NewsRadio 1620 in the summer of 2008, as a news anchor and reporter. It marks a return for Rob to the Gulf Coast, where he worked for several years as an award-winning news anchor and reporter in Mobile, New Orleans and Houston. During his career, he has covered dozens of hurricanes, and has even flown twice with the Air Force Reserve's 'Hurricane Hunters' from Keesler AFB.
Rob was raised across the country, but considers his 'home port' to be Fairhope, in nearby Baldwin County, Alabama, where his family has lived for more than 30 years. His favorite parts of Pensacola and Northwest Florida? Rob says, "The world's GREATEST beaches AND, the world's GREATEST naval aviation museum."
Williams' first experience with Pensacola dates back to the days when the USS Lexington was based here, and he's been onboard for a couple of day cruises, and has one trap and one cat shot from the 'Lady Lex'.
Rob is a sailing enthusiast and can be found on his boat, in the bay, with his wife, Cindy.
